Spires Theatre School is an body of young performers, former members of PACE Youth Theatre, who we feel can take on a more demanding and intensive series of workshops than is possible within a normal Youth Theatre system. It is a place where they can fully achieve their potential within the Youth Arts sphere. It is not a training ground for actors however they will be trained like actors and if any of the members are considering a career within the Arts world then it will provide an invaluable grounding. At the same time if they are intending to pursue another career out with the Arts world then it will provide invaluable life skills such as communication techniques and will equip them with a level of confidence to attain their greatest potential.

The students attend theatre school twice weekly with the aim of thoroughly extending their theatrical outlook and although we are not training them for a life in acting we will, as mentioned, train them like actors. The type of drama classes they undertake range from Greeks to modern, pausing at various plays along the way. It covers styles and techniques, history and stagecraft and experience every actor’s emotion from A to Z. We will concentrate on the actor’s three star qualities; voice, body and mind.

In taking their places in theatre school the members are committing themselves to hard work, but in the long term they are choosing to embrace a learning experience that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

Entrance to Theatre School and Theatre Programme groups is via audition to youth theatre members only.
